Dr. Nawar Hatoum, graduated from Damascus College of Medicine in Syria. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology from The Western Pennsylvania Hospital In Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1990, and his fellowship in Maternal-fetal Medicine from The Metro Health Medical Center/Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio in 1993. In 1995, he was awarded by the Council on resident education in Obstetrics and Gynecology, national faculty award for excellence in resident education. He was listed as one of Chicago's TOP Doctors in Chicago Magazine in 2001.

      Dr. Hatoum is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and in Maternal-Fetal Medicine. He is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and gynecologists, Society of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, and the American Institute Of Ultrasound in Medicine. Dr. Hatoum has published in peer-review Medical Journals in the area of maternal exercise in pregnancy and management of complicated multiple gestation.   He is particularly interested in Obstetric Ultrasonography and management of Cervical Insufficiency (Incompetent Cervix) during pregnancy.
